Animation has always been more than a craft to me. It’s a way to connect, reflect, and move people. I fell in love with storytelling through films like The Lion King and Toy Story, which shaped my emotional and creative world from a young age. That spark led me to pursue a master’s degree in 3D character animation after earning a bachelor’s in digital graphic design. Over the years, I’ve gravitated toward flawed characters and underdogs because they feel the most real. There was something about Simba’s fear of his past and Woody’s jealousy that amazed me. Whether I’m animating in Maya or Procreate Dreams, I build my performances from the inside out. Always acting out the scene to connect with the emotional core of each character, while finding a natural way to express themselves.
What drives me is the possibility of making people feel something real. Of crafting characters that resonate and linger long after the story ends. And what better medium than animation? Where the possibilities are endless, and where characters can be as fantastical or grounded as the story needs, no restrictions. My dream is to one day write and direct my own animated film, bringing what I believe in (empathy, identity, accountability, and community) to life on screen.
Of course, life isn’t only about animation. And when I’m not animating, you’ll probably find me reading, dancing (even if just in my living room), or experimenting with 3D printing. But always smooching my cat Simba Alberto. Who is, without a doubt, the apple of my eye and an endless source of inspiration for everything I do.
